BIC FEST 2025

BIC FEST 2025

What?

BIC Fest is an open and friendly event designed to introduce your child or young person to the wonderfully inclusive sport of Rock Climbing.

We work with all kinds of disabilities, impairments, and neurological conditions. In the 6 years we’ve been running we are yet to come across anybody we haven’t been able to get climbing!

BIC Fest is made of four climbing sessions from 1pm to 8pm at Redpoint Climbing Centre - the home of Bristol Inclusive Climbing. Across the day we’ve got space for 35 new climbers to book on for a bespoke, supportive and fun climbing session.

What happens in my session?

Sessions are two hours long and are split into two parts:

  • First hour: a 1:1 bespoke and accessible climbing session with one of our experienced volunteers.

  • Second hour: a group Crazy Climb session with 6 other climbers run by the lovely Redpoint team.

Who is this event for?

BIC Fest is for any child or young person with a physical disability or neurological condition, basically anything that might mean they need a bit of extra help to get on the wall. When you book with us we’ll ask a few questions about them and the kind of support they might need.

Quick fire questions

  • Nothing! All sessions are free.

  • No! If your child or young person loves to climb, or has never put on a harness in their life, we can support them to have a safe and fun session with us.

  • Our friends at Redpoint have years of experience running Crazy Climb sessions, read more about these here.

  • Climbers should wear comfy clothing and bring a snack and bottle of water. All climbing equipment, including shoes, will be provided.

  • We’re so fortunate to have the wonderful Redpoint space to base ourselves from.

There’s a great cafe when you can get a coffee and have a bit of a break while your child is on their session.

Alternatively, you’ll be able to go in and watch them climb, you’ll just need to sign a form at reception.

  • We’re happy to have a chat. Get in touch on bicfest@bristolinclusiveclimbing.org and one of our team will answer all your questions.
